Last Bell

I was commissioned to paint this 12" x 16" acrylic ink on paper of the now demolished Admiral Collingwood Public School 1925-2003. Teachers from the new school often receive a print of this painting when they retire.

When I posted the stages of the painting on Facebook, I learned some interesting info about the school’s history: The new school replaced it. The old Admiral was the old CCI before the new one was built in the 50's. After it was replaced by the new CCI it became Senior Public, and then they extended the grades at elementary schools so a middle school wasn't required and it became Admiral prior to the new Admiral.

The fitting painting title popped out of my mouth as soon as I said to my hubby, Besh, "Ok, let's brainstorm titles"!
