Marconi Moon - Art Prints

$125.00

Art prints from the original watercolour pencils on paper. I always said I would only paint Cabot Tower on Signal Hill overlooking St. John’s, Newfoundland, if I could find a new way to do it that was interesting to me. One very late night/early morning, I was up there during a full moon and captured this scene that sparked me to paint it. Why "Marconi Moon"? On 12 December 1901, the first transatlantic wireless Morse code transmission was received here by Guglielmo Marconi in an abandoned fever and diphtheria hospital, which has since been destroyed by fire. Brilliantly titled by Keith Lamkin in my Facebook Name that Painting contest!
